The fugitive of the Vina Cirebon murder case, Pegi Setiawan alias Perong, is said by the police to work as a builder before finally being arrested today, Tuesday (21/5).
Head of Public Relations of West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Jules Abraham Abast said Pegi was arrested in Bandung. While in Bandung, Pegi worked as a builder. Jules did not elaborate on the location of Pegi’s arrest.
“So Pegi who we DPO the last information we got was working as a construction worker in Bandung,” said Jules, Wednesday (22/5).
Police continued to investigate Pegi’s escape for eight years before his arrest. Including, the matter of Pegi’s alleged change of identity and role in the Vina Cirebon murder case.
“We will tell you later, deepening is still being done. We will reveal it clearly. Thank you for your concern. Please pray, as soon as possible we reveal it,” he said.
Pegi Setiawan is one of three suspects in the fugitive Vina Cirebon murder case. After wandering around for eight years since 2016, Pegi was arrested in Bandung today.
“We, West Java Regional Police, assisted by Bareskrim and all elements, have succeeded in arresting one person on behalf of Pegi Setiawan, a citizen of Cirebon, who was arrested in Bandung,” said Jules.
Police are still pursuing two other perpetrators, namely Andi and Dani. In this case, there are eight suspects serving time in prison. Those who have been tried include Jaya, Supriyanto, Eka Sandi, Hadi Saputra, Eko Ramadhani, Sudirman, Rivaldi Aditya Wardana and Saka Tatal.
Seven people were sentenced to life imprisonment each, while one minor was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment.
