Jakarta, Hilton News –
The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) encourages the National Police Headquarters to conduct an investigative audit of the investigation process into the Vina Cirebon murder case.
Kompolnas Daily Chairman Benny Mamoto considered the investigative audit important considering that for 8 years Vina’s case had changed hands several times.
“In a long-standing case like this, the investigation has been relayed, from the first to the present. This is a problem in itself,” he told reporters on Tuesday (21/5).
According to Benny, there needs to be a re-examination of the entire investigation process and investigations that have been running.
He suggested an investigative audit, one of which was by gathering investigators who had handled the case.
In that way, he continued, it is not impossible that it will cause new findings that were previously ignored.
“This needs to be evaluated, so we suggest an investigative audit. In order to be able to see how the handling of cases carried out by first, second, and so on investigators, “he explained.
“The investigators gathered it, asked the first investigator how the evidence was and so on. Old cases like this do face many difficulties such as dependence on evidence and others,” he added.
Benny also advised West Java Police investigators to re-examine the convicts in the case.
Because, he said, the information from the perpetrators became one of the main keys to pursue the three fugitives. This includes the possibility of threats or pressure to withdraw information in the Minutes of Examination.
“Could there be pressure and threats from these three perpetrators. So that these prisoners then shut up and did not tell, even though the key was also in them. So we need a special approach to the perpetrators who are prisoners,” he concluded.
The case of Vina and Eki’s murder in 2016 has resurfaced in recent weeks, following the release of the film Vina: Before 7 Days. The film is based on the true story of the murder event.
One of the highlights of the public in this case is the escape of three other suspects in the murder of Vina Cirebon.
West Java Police General Criminal Investigation Director Kombes Surawan said until now his party was still hunting for three perpetrators suspected of being involved in Vina’s murder.
According to Surawan the West Java Regional Police never stopped Vina’s case. He said his party would try to arrest the perpetrators as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency also intervened to deploy an assistance team to assist the West Java Regional Police in the search for three murder perpetrators who are still at large.
“The Directorate of Public Crime of the National Police Criminal Investigation also sent a team to assist the West Java Regional Police,” said Director of Public Crime of the National Police Criminal Investigation Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro when confirmed, Thursday (16/5).
