Intention to Avoid Raids Leads to Vina Case Entanglement

Jakarta, Hilton News

A resident of Cirebon, Saka Tatal, was wrongly arrested and became a convicted of Vina’s murder case. He was arrested by police while helping a friend go to a repair shop.

Saka said that at the time of the incident he was at home with family and friends. He said from late afternoon until about 10 p.m. he was still at home.

“On the night of the incident, I was at home, there were witnesses too, there was my brother, there was my uncle, as well as my brother’s friends,” Saka said in an interview with Hilton News, Monday (20/5).

“At 11 o’clock I moved less, drove my friend the bike was broken, the radiator was leaking. Immediately my friend asked for anther to the workshop, “he continued.

He said the intended workshop passed through the overpass that was the site of Vina’s murder. Before passing the overpass, Saka saw the police from a distance. He thought there was a raid.

Afraid of being raided for not wearing a helmet, Saka intends to make a U-turn. Similarly, his friends made a U-turn to avoid the raid.

“I thought it was a raid with my friends. You see, every Sunday night there are many raids too. While I am with my friends, you don’t use a helmet at all. So I made a U-turn, but it was divided in half, the goal was one to the workshop,” he continued.

After that, Saka was arrested by the police for allegedly killing Vina and Eky on August 31, 2016. He was 15 years old at the time.

Saka was sentenced to eight years in prison. However, he received a reduced remission of his prison term, finally in April 2020 Saka was declared free on parole after serving a prison sentence of 3 years and 8 months.

Now he hopes that the truth will come out and his good name can be restored.

“I want yes, if I personally have a good name, I am clean again, rich again and can live a normal life like before,” said Saka.

Titin Prialianti, Saka’s lawyer, said the case did not get enough attention in 2016 or 2017.

“I have made various efforts there, but it didn’t work, if only this went viral at that time, there would be no way that there would be a child who after 8 years could only tell stories now,” said Titin.

Titin also highlighted that Saka’s arrest and trial process was full of irregularities.

“We have opened this from 2016, this was a wrong arrest, this is an incorrect procedure, this is a witness statement, this is incorrect trial evidence, I have exposed it in 2016 and 2017. But it didn’t come to fruition,” he said.

The murder case of Vina and her lover, Muhammad Rizky Rudiana aka Eky which occurred in 2016 still remains a mystery. Three perpetrators have not been arrested by the police. The three include Pegi aka Perong, Andi and Dani.

This case was again highlighted after the film Vina: Before 7 Days, was released in theaters. The film tries to recreate the incident experienced by the lovebirds.
